Kirtch Wildlife Management Area - Lund, NV This project is owned and managed by Nevada Dept. of Wildlife and is one of the last remaining functional habitat reaches for the federally endangered White river spinedace. Past protection efforts have secured a stable population, but much of the potential habitat remains in degraded condition. NDOW and USFWS support measures to restore historic spinedace habitat at Kirtch and expand the population base. The project proposal has been accepted and construction is scheduled for summer/fall 2009.
